Marie Rhone, 90, passed away Tuesday,
September 8, 2009, in Bowie, Texas.
Marie was born on December 6, 1918, in Dalton,
Ohio, to Forrest and Myrtle Mae Leisy.
Following her mother's death, she was raised by
her step-mom, Erma Leisy. She graduated
from Dalton High School and recently enjoyed her
70th class reunion. She was a member of the
Army Air Corp and proudly served her country as a
nurse assistant. She met and married
Hugh Rhone in 1945 and they moved
to Texas to raise their family. She worked at
Haggar Company for 10 years and then served
as the Veterans Administration representative
for Montague County for 15 years before retiring.
She loved to travel, especially to her native Ohio,
making many trips during her retirement years.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband,
Hugh Rhone in 1977; brother,
Kenneth Leisy; and a
grandson, Randall Hardison.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley Rhone
and wife, Glynda of Cleburne,
Tom Rhone and wife, Judy Ann
of Snyder, Bill Rhone and wife,
Leonita of Bowie, John Rhone
and wife, Sandy of Milton, Florida,
Ken Rhone of Omaha,
Nebraska, and Jodie Rhone and wife,
Karen of Colorado Springs, Colorado;
daughters, Barbara Robertson and husband,
Kenny of Bowie, and Judy Pilgreen
and husband, Ralph of Waurika, Oklahoma;
sister, Ruth Huff of Dalton, Ohio; twenty
grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
